    Shoulder Winging

    πŸ—£οΈ
Please pick this up as soon as possible. During exams, it's routine for me to repeat abduction movements while observing the patient from behind and mention that I'm looking for shoulder winging. This prompts the examiner to say "yes, it's there. How can you make it more obvious?" even if you're unable to see it.
    • Ask patient to push against the wall to confirm presence of Medial winging
    • "I want to confirm this is isolated LTN and not part of brachial plexus injury"
      • Screen sensation and motor by Asia scoring
      • Check Rhomboid, Supraspinatus and Horner’s
    • Check function - ask handedness and check touch head, mouth and back pocket
